Learning Python

My first introduction to Python came back in 2017. I wanted to get into data analysis and from what all the blogs said, Python was the way to go.

I signed up for online training through a website called DataCamp and began learning Python. At this stage, it was mostly for data analysis.

I went through their Introduction to Python track and then completed their Python for Data Analysis track (that might not be the correct name). By the time all was said and done, I had a pretty good understanding of how to use Python for data analysis.

Things changed in 2019 as I got a promotion at my job and focused less on data analysis. In addition to Python, I also learned SQL online which came in real handy with my new position.

Finally, in early 2021 I decided to explore Python again. I heard word there may be some positions open at my work for people with data analysis and report making skills.

But I also wanted to be a little more purposeful this time around.

Last time I studied Python, I was just learning anything and everything that came my way. This time, I want to focus more on finance.

So, I went back online and began studying Python for finance. Quite frankly, I find it fascinating and my love for analytics, statistics, and finance was rekindled.

That’s where I am right now. Relearning my Python skills but with a focus on finance.

We’ll see how things go.
